W New Orleans - French Quarter
About the hotel
"Set in the vibrant heart of the historic French Quarter, the W New Orleans appeals to a younger, trendy crowd with its swanky guestrooms and street food-focused restaurant."

The eclectic energy of New Orleans is channelled into the W, which is stylish, bold and attractively funky. Rooms have memorable names such as Wonderful, Spectacular and Fantastic and all are tech-savvy and comfortably sized. The interior design features bright yellow walls with accents of jet black and snow white. Enormous artworks move seamlessly from the walls to the ceiling, furniture is sleek and streamlined, and the overall feel is contemporary and chic. Our one annoyance with the rooms is that Wi-Fi incurs an additional cost. That exempted, there’s very little about which to complain.
SoBou – shout for South of Bourbon Street – is the hotel’s Creole restaurant. The spirited restaurant is a fabulous way to get acquainted with the local culture, as the menu highlights delectable street food for which the city is famous. Be sure to come back for a Sunday brunch unlike any you’ve had to before, and enjoy the weekly burlesque show along with your mimosa.
There’s only this one restaurant on-site and no standalone bar within the hotel, but rest assured you’ll have no trouble finding scores of other drinking and dining options right outside your door.
The facilities at the hotel are a mixed bag. There’s a pretty outdoor swimming pool alongside a 24-hour fitness centre that hosts complimentary classes. Unfortunately, there is no spa, though you’ll hardly miss it in a city with as much to do as New Orleans.
Speaking of things to do, Bourbon Street – love it or hate it – is one of the country’s most famous party destinations. If raucous crowds, neon lights and legions of high-energy partygoers are not your cup of tea, fear not: quieter streets nearby lead to fabulous restaurants, pretty boutiques and jazz clubs with a more laid-back, sophisticated vibe.
