An urban oasis capturing all the energy of the city it inhabits, W Atlanta - Downtown is a chic hotel with an enviable address. With must-visit attractions like the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Centennial Olympic Park and the Georgia Aquarium within easy reach of the property (to speak nothing of all the nearby dining and nightlife), this hotel is a perfectly-placed launching pad for experiencing all that the “Empire City of the South” has to offer.

In typical W style, the hotel’s accommodations are sorted according to their adjective-based names and boast whimsical monikers like “Fabulous” and “Extreme WOW.” All are chic, sleek and stylish in an effortless sort of way. Interiors are as bold as the city itself and feel sultry and alluring with their eggplant-coloured walls, jewel-toned accents and artistic, arbour-inspired detailing – a homage, perhaps, to one of Atlanta’s other nicknames: “The City of Trees.” The guestrooms’ enormous windows span full walls and feature bright views of the urban landscape, while contemporary bathrooms are edgy and perfectly luxurious.

Bold design and Southern flavours combine in the hotel’s dining scene, which comprises three different venues to suit any mood. Local Motives – a restaurant inspired by the beltline in Atlanta – is the hotel's flagship American restaurant. This venue (the hotel’s signature eatery) is open for all meals of the day and represents a vibrant fusion of the city's art, history and culture – and, of course, its food. Local Motives also features a trendy dining room, but we think that the one found at Living Room is even cooler. A garden-inspired hideaway with a club-like vibe, this is the perfect spot in which to enjoy a hand-crafted cocktail as you take in the buzzy crowd and multi-layered design that includes a 22-foot water feature and onyx reflecting pool. Nearby is a coffee shop that is open for breakfast, and last – but certainly not least – is WETBAR, which is open seasonally and conveniently set near the rooftop pool.

The hotel is rather well-appointed as far as wellness amenities go, thanks to a nicely equipped 24-hour gym that features stellar views over the city alongside the luxurious Spa @ W Atlanta Downtown. There's also a snazzy rooftop pool with excellent downtown views, the bar of which just so happens to be the only all-weather rooftop pool bar in the city.
