The grand Westin Paris – Vendôme (first opened in April 1878) is an idyllic retreat in the midst of the stylish French capital, showcasing European splendour at its very best. The opulent entrance is marked by wrought-iron gates and gilded light fixtures. Inside, the lobby boasts plush carpets and chandeliers, soaring ceilings, old world panelling, landscape paintings in gilt frames and marble-topped tables. While overlooking the Tuileries Gardens and the Eiffel Tower, the hotel is a seven-minute stroll from Place de la Concorde and a fifteen-minute walk to the Louvre.

The elegant property, with its beautiful lobby and solarium, has 428 sophisticated rooms. The decor in the rooms and suites mixes antiques, marble-topped tables inlaid with ivory and contemporary furniture, upholstered headboards, beds outfitted with sumptuous linens, a comfy duvet and all the trappings of splendid decadence. The redesigned Bar Tuileries is a chic meeting spot, where guests find an original selection of dishes and snacks all day, including the restaurant’s famed pastries. Its 19th-century inspired grey and gold furniture and the eclectic collection of pictures and portraits on the walls offer an ambience of a beautiful era gone by.
