Attractively located in the heart of the Jeddah Yacht Club and Marina is The Jeddah EDITION: a snazzy new getaway from the boutique hospitality brand. As the first EDITION property in Saudi Arabia, this lifestyle hotel has a lot going for it: scenic views of the Red Sea, easy access to the city centre and an address that places it adjacent to the F1 racetrack are just the beginning.

A grand total of just 63 rooms and suites comprise the hotel, each and every one of which is equipped with a private balcony. Choose your accommodation based on the view that you’d like to enjoy from that balcony; you can opt to gaze out over the city or the sea – personally, we’re partial to the latter. Separating the indoors from the out are enormous full-wall windows that flood the spaces with natural light and illuminate interiors that are the picture of coastal minimalism. The monochromatic colour scheme consists of only the softest organic shades – think sand, ivory and taupe – with the only deviations coming in the form of meticulously placed accents: a perfect little vase of fuschia coloured blooms here, a pink coffee table book there and a lone framed print artfully offset on the wall. Further colour isn’t missed (there’s plenty of it outside), and the resulting spaces feel refreshingly tranquil and chic as can be.

Influences from around the globe make appearances in the hotel’s culinary scene, beginning with the French restaurant Maritime. The brainchild of Chef Cedric Vongerichten, Maritime incorporates Asian influences into its contemporary French cuisine to create an immersive and experimental dining experience. Also channelling European influences is The Roof, which is the hotel’s interpretation of a Mediterranean beach club and is set by the picture-perfect pool. Zero-proof cocktails, tableside tea service, fresh pastries and an international menu can be enjoyed at the Lobby Bar, while indulgences of another kind can be found at The Den. A unique concept within the larger EDITION portfolio, this handsome cigar lounge is a classically elegant spot in which to unwind.
