The six Serenissima Suites celebrate the historic naval power of the Most Serene Republic of Venice. The suites’ namesake battles are documented in the ivory slabs of Istrian marble that decorate the lower walls of the Santa Maria del Giglio Church, which is set in the square of the same name, and which all six suites face. The Coppa Volpi Suite is named after the trophy awarded each year by the Biennale of Venice. It boasts an impressive collection of films that have won this prestigious award. Black and white photography referencing films and the recipients of the Coppa Volpi throughout the Venice International Film Festival's history add to the atmosphere. The La Fenice Suite honours the city’s famous opera house, Gran Teatro La Fenice. Jacquard and sumptuous Lorenzo Rubelli custom fabrics that were created originally for La Fenice Theatre feature alongside a rare antique hand-painted harpsichord, Neoclassical and Empire style furniture, and antique carpets. The centrepiece of the La Fenice Suite is a restored 1705 harpsichord adorned with finely painted mythological scenes. This suite also features a 46″ Bang & Olufsen BeoVision 10 Tv and BeoSound 4 Radio/ CD and BeoLab Speakers.

Named after patrons of art, design and literature, Patron Canal Suites at The Gritti Palace immerse guests deep into the cultural and artistic roots of the city and this noble palace.
The John Ruskin suite bears an authentic oil painting of the renowned art historian. The expansive Punta della Dogana suite offers a finely restored selection of antiques from The Gritti Collection. Finally, the Donghia suite embraces a sophisticated interpretation of the minimalist style of American interior designer Angelo Donghia.

In the Presidential Suite that bears his name, Ernest Hemingway, who considered The Gritti Palace his home in Venice during the late 1940's and early 1950's, composed many passages of his novel "Across the River and Into the Trees."
