The French Room is the hotel’s original fine-dining venue and occupies a dazzling dining room resplendent with Rococo decor. Elevated French cuisine is the fare of choice in this grand historic restaurant, which has endured for over a century. Be sure not to miss the tea service held there, which feels particularly lovely thanks to the Louis XVI-style furnishings and luxurious Murano glass chandeliers. For a more laid-back meal, visit City Hall Bistro, which is a Southern European-style eatery with a buzzy vibe. The menu draws its inspiration from the flavours of the Mediterranean and (as of recently) the venue is also open for breakfast. Otto’s Coffee and Fine Foods is another spot for an early morning meal or an espresso, while adult beverages can be found later in the day at the blue-lacquered French Room Bar or in the bustling City Hall Bar.
Make sure you leave time for a visit to the rooftop pool, for mingling if not for swimming. Surrounded by cabanas and a cosy fire, this lively spot enjoys beautiful views of downtown Dallas.
