An elegant resort set directly on the seafront, Susona Bodrum straddles the best of both worlds. Its Aegean Sea views, posh private beach and lush greenery make it something of a far-off holiday destination, while its prime location means that all the fabulousness of Torba (including the nightlife and entertainment, for which it is so beloved) is just minutes away.

Everything about this resort screams “artfully upscale”, and elegant minimalism prevails from the exterior architecture to the interior design. Speaking of, the resort's rooms and suites are tranquil havens; each its own wonderfully soothing oasis. Set in gentle shades of grey, white and sand, the rooms have high ceilings and are flooded with light from the full-wall windows. Decor is pared down in a very chic sort of way: mirrors, aesthetically pleasing furniture and strategic artworks take the place of superfluous embellishments. All come with accoutrements for tea and coffee, and some have private balconies; for obvious reasons, we think these (and most especially those with sea views) are the superior accommodations. Suites are a step up in both size and luxury, and some have their own private pools.

If you don’t have a pool of your own, fear not: the resort has two dazzling options for swimming: one set at the Beach Club and a second, picture-perfect infinity pool. These are just the beginning of the resort’s many perks which also include a decadent spa, state-of-the-art fitness centre, tennis courts and water sports aplenty. At the aforementioned Beach Club, you’ll receive the VIP treatment; as far as glamorous social scenes go, this is one of the best spots in town.

Dining is a pleasure at the resort: five venues for food and drink see to that. Start your day at the laid-back Ezi Restaurant with a lavish buffet breakfast – think artisanal baked goods, fresh smoothies and killer coffee – alongside panoramic views of the water. Family Beach is a perfect spot for a snack or juice during the day, while Frankie Beach Club Bodrum boasts locally inspired cuisine, top-notch cocktails and fabulous live entertainment. For dinner or after-dinner drinks, we love the atmosphere of the boho-chic MALVA Restaurant. The mood here is set by Turkish covers of jazz and soul, romantic lighting and breathtaking views of the sea.
