A dreamy escape set on a picturesque private beach, St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino is an unforgettable retreat on an equally unforgettable island. Just four miles away from the area’s international airport, this resort serves as a superb launching pad for exploring all that Saint Kitts has to offer, from climbing active volcanoes to ziplining through the treetops. Opportunities for adventure aside, the resort is equally excellent for guests who want to stay put and relax thanks to its golf course, casino and wealth of other amenities.

The resort has nearly 400 rooms and suites which are admittedly a little lacklustre as far as personality is concerned. Though they unfortunately verge on slightly bland, they are attractive nonetheless with their glossy floors, tufted leather headboards and bursts of colour lent by jewel-toned furniture and accents. The higher floor options have views of the mountains or ocean; these, unsurprisingly, come with an upcharge but are definitely superior to those that gaze out at the resort.

Mealtimes mean a good array of on-site options as well as an assortment of other solid restaurants within a few miles – some within walking distance. FIRE Steak & Seafood Restaurant is a dynamic, new-style Steakhouse with a sizzling menu of high-quality dry-aged steaks and succulent seafood dishes, and authentic regional Italian can be enjoyed at La Cucina Italian Restaurant. Breakfast and continental comfort food is served at Calypso Restaurant, while ARWEE Sushi Bar serves Japanese delicacies both old and new. When you’re in need of a caffeine fix, pay a visit to Calypso Café – the resort’s coffee house – and if you’re more in the mood for a refreshing frozen libation, you’ll be able to indulge at Bohemia Beach Pool Bar & Grille.

Golf enthusiasts will delight in the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club: a par-71 course with 18 championship holes. Spread out over 125 lush acres, golfers are treated to views of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. There is also a well-equipped fitness centre for those who can bear working out indoors (if you can’t, fear not –you’ll find plenty of ways to stay active outdoors), alongside lighted outdoor tennis courts and several swimming pools dotted around the property.
