"Comprising six lodges placed around the Kingdom, Six Senses Bhutan boasts breathtaking locations, gorgeous architecture and bespoke experiences both indoors and out."

Six Senses Bhutan is a collection of five lodges situated across the Kingdom of Bhutan, each with a uniquely stunning location and character all its own. Rich culture and natural beauty merge in each of the five outposts, all of which are contemporary re-imaginings of traditional Bhutanese architecture. Wherever you stay, you can expect a truly immersive experience that will give you a new appreciation of (and undoubtedly a love for) this magical south Asian country.

Bhutan is well known for its dramatic landscapes, which range from the towering Himalayas to the valleys and subtropical plains. Each and every one of the lodges offers a unique vantage point from which to experience the stunning scenery. Perched on a hillside enveloped by apple orchards and pine forests is the Six Senses Thimphu lodge, which feels like a hidden castle in the sky. It gazes out at both the natural world and the city of Thimphu itself and is a wonderful option for guests who want to feel close to nature...   Show more

It gazes out at both the natural world and the city of Thimphu itself and is a wonderful option for guests who want to feel close to nature while still being within easy reach of the sights and sounds of the capital. The rustic Six Senses Punakha is placed at a lower elevation (and enjoys the warmer weather that comes with it); practitioners of yoga and meditation will be especially delighted by this location. Six Senses Paro is also known as “Stone Ruins” thanks to the presence of old-world architecture and it sits within walking distance of multiple ancient monasteries. Six Senses Gangtey is set in the charming Phobjikha Valley in central Bhutan, and Six Senses Bumthang is an enchanting hideaway and resides in a breathtaking forest-within-a-forest.

Regardless of where you stay, and you may choose to stay at each one, you can expect marvellous villas and suites that meld Bhutan tradition with a contemporary minimalism that is both welcome and invigorating. You’ll also have a host of amenities both in-room and out, and all lodges have divine spas designed to restore and rejuvenate. Dining across-the-board is a delicious exploration of Bhutanese cuisine, with an emphasis on seasonal, local ingredients and a health-forward ethos.

The experiences that await at the lodges are guaranteed to be bespoke and unforgettable, from excursions into nature to spiritual rituals. Architectural wonders and ancient sites offer plenty of opportunities for exploration, while ventures into local communities offer an intimate look into Bhutanese culture. And in all that it does, Six Senses takes its commitment to sustainability seriously so as to do its part to preserve the only carbon-negative country in the world.
