You’d be hard-pressed to find a beach in Grenada that isn’t lovely – the bar, suffice it to say, is set quite high. Even by such standards, Grand Anse beach is a stand-out; soft white sands and picturesque waters make it the island’s most famous beach. At the shore’s northern end is Silversands Grenada – a resort that rejects Caribbean convention in favour of a streamlined, contemporary exploration of luxury.

Set foot in the lobby and your eye will be immediately drawn to the resort’s 330-foot pool. Claiming to be the longest in the Caribbean, this pool is the striking start of what, rest assured, will be a very aesthetically pleasing stay.

Indeed, the entire resort is a study in minimalist beauty, and attention to detail is clearly the driving force. The property’s clean lines and thoughtful decor are all set in soothing neutral tones; the only deviations come from palm fronds, turquoise waters and original artwork.

Check-in takes place in your room, which, like the lobby, offers an ambience of soothing elegance. Limestone and grey marble bathrooms have deep soaking tubs, bedside control panels let you control lights and blinds, and terraces have daybeds for napping in the gentle breeze.

A caveat is that most rooms do not have full ocean views. To guarantee those vistas, a Beachfront Ocean Villa may be the ideal choice. Guests of any age are welcome in villas but must be at least twelve to stay in the other forty-three rooms.

Walk outside and you’ll hear the resort’s resident DJs, who eschew tropical soundtracks in favour of contemporary pop remixes. On Friday nights, the resort draws a party scene that feels decadent and exclusive.

Dining options are equally glamorous. Asiatique fuses pan-Asian with Grenadian spices, while the more casual Grenadian Grill caters to an international palette (and is a prime sunset-watching spot). Rum enthusiasts will want to frequent Puro, Silversands’ cigar and rum lounge.

Grande Anse’s calm waters are ideal for swimming and stand-up paddleboarding, and the resort's staff will ferry you out to prime snorkelling spots above coral reefs. Within the resort’s spa, you’ll find everything from massages and nail treatments to more unconventional offerings like ice caves and experiential showers.
