Despite its size, the hotel has just two restaurants and two bars. The nine open theatres of Café Z promise plenty of variety and culinary entertainment at mealtimes, and – as the menu is internationally diverse – is sure to delight every guest regardless of gastronomic preferences. The fine-dining Shang Palace is a more upscale option for fabulous Cantonese and Sichuan dishes in an elegant, gilded dining room. The Lobby Lounge is an ideal spot for a drink if you want to relax and unwind; if you’re looking for something a little more lively, head to Mooney’s Bar instead. There, live bands play nightly, that alongside the bar’s cheerful outdoor terrace and regular themed parties make for a convivial atmosphere. Though in-hotel options are limited, there are dozens of other restaurants to explore within half a kilometre including Genroku Robatayaki which is undoubtedly one of Chengdu’s finest Japanese restaurants.
If you’d like to start your day with a walk or a jog in the fresh air, you’ll have plenty to see nearby: the riverside is a scenic place to start, and the Confucius temple is less than ten minutes away. If you prefer to work up a sweat indoors, the hotel has an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts and a 24-hour gymnasium to keep you active. Chi, The Spa offers an elegant escape from reality with eleven decadent spa suites and a fabulous treatment list that includes enticing options like Traditional Wushu Massages and Oligomer Crystal Revitalizing Baths.
