Royal Palms Resort and Spa is a tranquil desert hideaway set in the shadow of Phoenix’s beloved Camelback Mountain. The magnificent nine-acre property – which began its life as a private estate – has an enchanting Mediterranean feel to it thanks to its Spanish Colonial design. It really is an idyllic scene, and the resort’s stone walkways, bubbling fountains, orange groves and stunning courtyards create an intimate and romantic atmosphere that feels a world away.

The boutique resort’s luxurious accommodations include 119 rooms, casitas and villas, all of which are stylistically inspired by classic Spanish estates and wonderfully reinterpreted to suit the 21st century. The Mediterranean-inspired interior design is bold and beautiful; the desert-hued spaces are resplendent with hand-carved furniture, rich wine-coloured drapes and striking artistic accents. It's well worth upgrading beyond the Standard Rooms, as doing so incorporates a host of perks like wood-burning fireplaces, furnished private patios and the very best Camelback Mountain views.

Dining is done well at the resort, and guests are able to indulge in a good bit of variety without ever having to step foot off of the property. T. Cook’s is the resort's award-winning Mediterranean restaurant which serves all meals of the day. Feast indoors in the beautiful vaulted-ceiling dining room or out on the patio with gorgeous mountain views; wherever you sit, you’ll be treated to cuisine influenced by Spain, Greece and Northern Italy. The poolside Cabana Café is a more casual affair, perfect for everything from a quick bite of something sweet to a frozen cocktail or even a full meal. Mix Up is a unique and lively cocktail lounge with a garden-to-glass philosophy and killer ginger beer which is made in-house. For a particularly special occasion, Via Capello offers unforgettable personalised dining experiences to create wonderfully romantic evenings.
