Designer Tommaso Ziffer lends his expertise to the hotel's five exquisite accommodations. All are positively enormous, beginning at 126-square metres and topping out at a staggering 291. Each is marvellously unique and designed with its own inspiration and character – whichever accommodation you choose, you should expect to be in for quite the treat. The Piranesi accommodation – named for the renowned Piranesi family – consists of two double bedrooms and living quarters resplendent with artwork and original heritage features. The two Bernini Apartments derive their names from the famous Baroque sculptor and are visually striking with their steely grey-blue walls and scarlet velvet couches. The Borghese Apartment boasts four bedrooms (making it the perfect option for groups), while the Spagna Penthouse with Terrace is the most spectacular of all. A tribute to the Baroque Spanish Embassy, this fourth-floor penthouse features a 108-square metre private terrace that overlooks the city's breathtaking skyline. Across the board, you can expect the absolute best of everything, from luxury furniture and original artwork to indulgent bathrooms and fully equipped kitchens.
While you can of course take advantage of the private kitchen within your apartment, you'd be remiss to pass up on the marvellous cuisine found downstairs. Le Jardin de Russie is an elegant Italian eatery in a breathtaking setting; dine on the lush outdoor terrace to be surrounded by greenery and the aroma of flowering citrus. Local dishes take centre stage at this venue, and cuisine is simplistic – yet magnificently – prepared. Michelin-starred chef Fulvio Pierangelini is the creative force behind Mosaico, which is a striking restaurant featuring cuisine inspired by not only Italy but also Africa, the Middle East and Europe at large (the wine list here is excellent as well). Da Sistina is a neighbourhood favourite for classic Italian cuisine or a quick espresso, and Cielo Terrace is the icing on the hotel’s culinary cake. Open from dusk until dawn, this fabulous rooftop terrace is a Rome hotspot for all meals of the day. It is particularly memorable in the evenings, when DJs provide the soundtrack to a glamorous, buzzy social scene.
