Despite debuting as recently as 2021, Pendry Manhattan West has already firmly established itself as one of New York City’s most desirable hotels. Everything about the hotel oozes coastal cool – a welcome dose of California sensibility within the hubbub of NYC – while its snazzy Midtown location feels quintessentially Manhattan.

The hotel's appeal begins with its glamorous exteriors. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill are to thank for the 23-storey building’s dazzling rippling glass façade, which immediately catches the eye. Christine Gachot and her eponymous locally based design studio are responsible for the interiors, which feel calm, chic and utterly luxurious. Within, you'll find 164 guestrooms – 30 of which are suites – all of which feature floor-to-ceiling windows for taking in the city and skyline views. Even at entry-level, accommodations tend towards the spacious by New York City standards and are tranquil hideaways set in pale neutral shades with crisp lines, attractive lighting and sumptuous bathrooms. Upgrade to a suite for perks like standalone tubs, beautiful sitting areas and the most enviable views. The Two Bedroom Pendry Suite is the hotel's most dazzling option: this ultra-elegant spot features a fireplace and a baby grand piano (set in front of large windows which frame the New York City backdrop) among many other perks.

Eastern Mediterranean fare is the cuisine of choice at Zou Zou's, the acclaimed restaurant that is the star of Pendry’s dining scene. Inspired and contemporary, this spot is worth a visit as much for the cuisine as for the ambience. Located one floor above Zou Zou’s is the cocktail lounge Chez Zou, which features Mediterranean small bites and creative cocktails in an intriguing space. For breakfast, dine at Vista Lounge with its inspiring menu created by the team behind Quality Eats, Quality Italian and Don Angie. The plant-filled Garden Room feels like a breath of fresh air and is a good spot for coffee or a snack, while Bar Pendry is a must-visit with its classic cocktail emporium vibes.

The hotel boasts a 1,700-square-foot Fitness Centre and Movement Studio that's open 24 hours a day, though you’re likely not even going to need it thanks to the walkability of the neighbourhood. With Hudson Yards on one side and Penn Station on the other, all of New York City and its outer boroughs are on your doorstep, while an abundance of shops, restaurants and artsy spots ensure there's plenty to do nearby.
