You’d be hard-pressed to find a Dubai hotel with a better address than that of The Palace Downtown. Exceptionally well-located on a dazzling man-made lake, the hotel neighbours the legendary Dubai Mall and the thousand-plus destinations within it, which, by the way, extend beyond mere shops and restaurants to include an ice rink and aquarium among scores of other attractions. The hotel itself lives up to its lofty environment – the Dubai Opera and Burj Khalifa are also close at hand – by emulating all the grace and grandeur of a true Arabian palace.

Even with the soaring Burj Khalifa in the background, The Palace cuts an impressive figure. Medieval Islamic architecture lends an air of timelessness to it all, while abundant water features reflect the lights of illuminated palm trees and the city beyond. At the spa, you’ll find everything from jacuzzis and monsoon showers to hammam slabs, while the hotel’s state-of-the-art fitness centre includes classes, swimming instructors and a pool large enough for laps.
