Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa
About the hotel
"Set in the charming coastal town of St Andrews, the Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa promises sophisticated guestrooms alongside everything you need to improve your swing."
If golf is your game, the championship Duke’s course at the hotel with five tee positions for each hole will challenge you whether you’re an amateur or a seasoned pro. It’s highly regarded as one of the best heathland courses in the UK and has hosted the International European Amateur Championship. Despite the hotel’s name and the fact that it overlooks the Old Course the hotel doesn’t own it. If you wish to play the Old Course, applications must be made over the phone in advance.
Truly, it’s a golfer’s paradise but if you have the kids or a ‘golf widow/er’ in tow, they will be suitably entertained. An indulgent afternoon tea perhaps, a fitness class, a swim in the indoor... Show more

Truly, it’s a golfer’s paradise but if you have the kids or a ‘golf widow/er’ in tow, they will be suitably entertained. An indulgent afternoon tea perhaps, a fitness class, a swim in the indoor pool, a dip in the rooftop hot tub, or maybe a series of treatments at the Kohler Waters Spa? Book a family package and little ones can enjoy mini-robes and slippers, Nintendo Wiis and activities including splash time in the pool, while the beach just outside the hotel is great for building sandcastles.
Need a last fix of golf for the day? The Road Hole Restaurant on the fourth floor has amazing views of the fairways and is acclaimed for its Scottish cuisine. Or Jigger Inn is a traditional pub, complete with log fire and pub grub, for a cosy evening out.
The coastline, the town and the people make staying here about more than just golf. The town is full of traditional pubs and bars, with a variety of restaurants to suit all tastes—it’s all very down to earth. Days are spent golfing, whilst those who prefer other pursuits can enjoy walks along the coast, taking in the ruins of the cathedral and the stunning east coast beaches. If you like horse-riding, a hack along the beach makes a memorable day.
