It’s no secret that picture-perfect Mykonos is one of the world’s ultimate partying destinations. In addition to its second-to-none beach club scene, “The Island of the Winds” is famed for its 16th-century windmills, ancient archaeological sites and – naturally – it's fantastic Mediterranean cuisine. While many who visit Mykonos party till the sun comes up (and oftentimes continue well after it’s risen), a relaxing escape from the pulsing party scene (or merely a place to rejuvenate between nightlife escapades) can be found in the quintessential Grecian luxury of the Myconian Ambassador.

The Ambassador’s facade looks plucked from a postcard: streamlined, elegant white buildings overlook the island's iconic turquoise waters, while the white marble and natural light of the hotel’s interiors lend a chic, contemporary vibe. Rooms are set in white, with wood furnishings and accents of blue that match the waters outside. Most of the 70 rooms look out over the Aegean Sea, and about a third of them have a hot tub or private pool. Mykonos is not known for being cheap – rooms have Nespresso machines, but capsules come at an additional cost.

Whether you’re rising with the sun or just returning from a night spent revelling, a generous complimentary buffet breakfast can be found at Latitudes. Have a light lunch (and a drink) brought to you from George’s Bar without ever leaving the comfort of your shaded lounger, though if you’re feeling social, the bar is an excellent place to mingle before an evening on the town. The hotel’s fine dining option, Efisia, emphasises farm-to-table ingredients and has a wonderful selection of seafood. Once you’ve eaten there a time or two, be sure to explore a bit – there are seventeen other restaurants within a ten-minute walk of the hotel.

The beautiful infinity pool – one of the hotel’s best assets – looks out at the ocean, and complimentary ice pops and waters are provided by the staff. Children are permitted, but there is no specialised club or menu for them – Mykonos definitely has more of an adult-playground feel.

While you recuperate from your excitement-filled nights, have a complimentary thalassotherapy session at the spa or explore the island: the popular Platis Gialos Beach is a three-minute walk away; a stroll down coastal paths will get you to some of the island’s best beach clubs and the chic Mykonos Town itself is just a short taxi ride away.
