There are just 46 rooms within the hotel, in addition to the common living areas that are found on each floor. No two rooms are alike, and all are designed to a T: equal parts artsy and elegant and utterly, effortlessly fabulous. Within, contemporary earth tones and carefully curated modern art temper some of the more classically posh accents (think sumptuous tufted furniture and stately moulding), while edgy art fixtures and a dazzling mix of materials (wood, leather, velvet and everything in between) add a bespoke, homey feel. Natural light floods in from large windows, making the spaces feel fresh and airy. All in all, the rooms are easily inviting and fabulously comfortable: luxe linens imported from Xinjiang, Nespresso machines and mod cons aplenty see to that.
Dining at the hotel is a treat, and the hotel has a reputation for attracting locals and guests alike. The Patio, set in front of the hotel, is a particularly popular spot for cocktails and people-watching in the fresh air. The Terrace is a favourite of the more in-the-know crowd: set on the second floor of the hotel, it channels all the loveliness of a French garden and is a fabulous spot for lunch. And then there’s the Dining Room which has the feel of the living room (or perhaps a library) and serves all meals of the day.
While there’s no wellness facilities within the hotel itself, guests have access to the Nordic Spa and Fitness Centre in the Grand Hotel next-door. Pop over for a dip in the pool, a sweat session in the gym or an indulgent massage after a day spent exploring the city.
