The upscale property is the very definition of boutique luxury, with just 38 rooms and 10 suites that span six floors. Snag one of the lucky six accommodations that offer views of the Eiffel tower itself, and you'll be in for a truly exquisite stay in the City of Lights.

Within, Le Metropolitan’s guest rooms employ a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional Parisian elegance. Gone is the over-the-top opulence found in so many of Paris's other hotels, replaced instead by a design scheme that is beautiful in its simplicity. Behind the sumptuous beds, rich oak walls stretch up to high ceilings that create a sense of airy spaciousness. Cream drapes flank the spaces’ tall windows, and decor is pared down to the point of being almost nonexistent – while some may find this plain, we’re inclined to find it refreshing. The rooms are not enormous (this is Paris, after all) so you'll need to upgrade to a suite if you are seeking a little extra legroom. These are well worth the splurge, especially if you get one with a view of Paris's most famous landmark. The crème-de-la-crème of the accommodations is the Eiffel Suite, which features a postcard-worthy view of the tower as seen through a romantic oval window.

There's just one eatery at the hotel (to speak nothing of the seemingly infinite options beyond the hotel’s walls). Called Le Metropolitan restaurant, this venue is open for all meals of the day and serves bold French fare with an emphasis on organic, locally sourced produce (all of which is superbly fresh).

Though the hotel’s on-site amenities aren’t aplenty, there is a sleek swimming pool that is large enough for laps. For a conventional workout or spa treatment, you’ll have to look elsewhere, but thankfully you’ll find options for both within strolling distance.

When it comes time to explore the city, you could hardly ask for a better launching pad than the hotel. The only trouble with local attractions is knowing where to start; in addition to the Eiffel Tower and Champs-Élyséess, you'll find many other Parisian landmarks within walking distance, including the Arc de Triomphe.
