Privacy is paramount at Las Alamandas, and the suites – which are divided between seven villas – offer plenty of it. Designed by Isabel Goldsmith-Patiño, each of the suites is uniquely decorated, differing from its counterparts in both style and colour scheme. Menus change daily based on the bounty of the surrounding land and sea; local fishermen provide the seafood, while meat and poultry are sourced from nearby farms. Much of the produce is grown on the property itself; needless to say, everything is spectacularly fresh. Within shouting distance of the beach, you'll find Oasis Restaurant, which boasts an indoor-outdoor dining room and separate bar, both of which feature stunning views of the ocean. In addition to a vibrant menu and killer wine list, this is the place to find beach parties, bonfires and mariachi bands. Even closer to the water is La Palapa Beach Club: an enchanting thatched-roof venue that's perfect for a light bite and refreshing cocktail in the afternoon. Most alluring of all is Estrella Azul Rooftop Bar, which is a sleek and sexy spot for drinking, mingling and stargazing – there’s even a telescope to help guests get a better look at the night sky.
Wellness opportunities at the resort are plentiful, from massages (taken either in-suite or in a palapa by the beach) to private yoga lessons in the fresh air. There are plenty of other ways for guests to stay active as well, from kayaking and mountain biking to beach volleyball or a few rounds of tennis on one of the resort’s courts.
