La Réserve Ramatuelle - Hotel, Spa and Villas
About the hotel
"Surrounded by the sea on one side and pine tree-covered hills to the other, La Réserve Ramatuelle is a visually striking getaway with a heavenly spa and Michelin-starred dining."
Close to the medieval village of Ramatuelle with its quaint streets, little restaurants and the famous beach clubs of Pampelonne, this contemporary hotel was designed using natural materials and a subtle palette of neutral tones to blend in seamlessly with its environment.
The architecture and interiors were designed by Jean-Michel Wilmotte and Remi Tessier to create what they describe as a “streamlined, contemporary vessel overlooking the sea”. And they are not wrong. The hotel only has 28 bedrooms, which divide into nine rooms and nineteen suites, sizing from 45 to 100 m² (484 to 1076 ft²). All have either a private terrace or a garden with sun loungers and a sea view. Rates include full breakfast, tea and coffee facilities,... Show more

All have either a private terrace or a garden with sun loungers and a sea view. Rates include full breakfast, tea and coffee facilities, parking, and shuttles to and from the beaches. There are also twelve 3-6 bedroom villas in the grounds; all are serviced by the hotel and guests have access to all hotel facilities including breakfast. Villas are a better choice for seniors or children as there are lots of steps to get to the regular rooms and only one interconnecting bedroom in the hotel.
I loved the location! Away from the craziness of Saint Tropez which in high season is heaving, hot and too hard to handle. To be able to escape and find some peace after a busy and boisterous day at a beach club is nothing less than heaven. Gentle breezes blow around the hotel and across the terraces, and the beautiful southern light bathes the buildings soft pink.
Trust me, the best way to get here is by helicopter, weather permitting. It leaves from Nice airport and lands around ten minutes away from the hotel, and from June 15th to September 15th it costs about 320 euros per person, each way. A car transfer is around 480 Euros each way and traffic can be diabolical in summer months—the choice is yours. The glitz and glamour of St. Tropez needs little introduction. The slice of southeastern France has become a stomping ground for A-listers and socialites, with a nightlife scene of the highest order. Ten minutes away from the coastal town, an elegant respite from the festivities comes in the form of the boutique La Réserve Hotel, Spa and Villas, Ramatuelle. Surrounded by the sea on one side and pine tree-covered hills to the other, it offers an idyllic place to relax and rejuvenate before venturing back into the fray.
From the get-go, the hotel is sleek and minimalist: a roof swoops low over the entrance, hinting at the nautical inspiration behind the building’s design. Striking as the architecture is, the lush gardens tumbling down to the sparkling blue sea will quickly claim your attention.
Within, rooms are strikingly monochromatic, set in shades of sandy beige, white and burnt umber. Colour comes only from the leaves of white roses, potted orchids and from the jewel tones of the world outside. In addition to its fourteen villas, the hotel has just eight rooms and nineteen suites, all with furnished private terraces overlooking the sea. All rooms have direct – and plentiful – sunshine; have a Nespresso in the morning as your room slowly fills with light.
The whole hotel feels dreamily spalike, and the spa itself is heavenly. It’s an exceedingly popular feature as well, with eleven treatment rooms despite the hotel’s small size. Massages and facials here are excellent, and its programs are particularly noteworthy. Mind and Body Retreats are offered for those who need to be deeply pampered, while bootcamps see to those who need to be whipped into shape. Indeed, La Réserve takes wellness, as a lifestyle, seriously; guests have virtually everything needed to keep active from Nordic walks and Aquagym classes to a very well-equipped fitness centre.
The hotel has just one restaurant, the Michelin-starred La Voile. Cuisine there is Mediterannean fare at its finest and freshest, set in a stylish dining room with impeccable views. Of course, one would tire of dining there every day, so you’ll want to venture out for more variety. For something a touch more casual than La Voile, Le Kikouiou – a fabulous little restaurant set in a vineyard – is just a touch over two kilometres away. And St. Tropez, of course, boasts plenty of options for sustenance during your fabulous nights on the town.
