All things luxe, lovely and quintessentially Parisian come together to form Kimpton St Honoré Paris. First and foremost, there’s the hotel’s location, which is about as close to perfect an address as can be found in the capital city. The 1917 Art Nouveau building is set in the former Samaritaine de Luxe, a registered Historic Monument and part of the original La Samaritaine department store. The Palais Garnier opera house is just steps away, as are the legendary boutiques of Place Vendôme and the Rue St-Honoré

Within, you’ll find 149 elegant guest rooms, 26 of which are suites. The interior design combines 1930s Art Deco elements with a splash of modernity, and the spaces are intended to resemble contemporary Parisian apartments. The rooms start quite small – no surprise there, given that this is Paris – with the entry-level Essential Room having space enough for just one guest. They do get a bit roomier as you climb the accommodation ladder, and large windows let in plenty of natural light, preventing even the smallest spaces from feeling stuffy. All of the rooms are pleasantly comfortable and impeccably designed: think fresh lilies, dusty rose-coloured velvet armchairs, attractive artwork placed just so, marble accents in the bathrooms and eye-catching lighting fixtures.

The hotel’s immediate area is positively bursting with places to eat and drink: indeed, there are nearly six hundred restaurants within a kilometre of Kimpton St Honoré’s front door. Particularly notable among the offerings is the Michelin-starred Pur’ - Jean-François Rouquette, a brilliantly inventive fine-dining affair that's just a three-minute stroll away. While you’ll certainly be spoiled for choice as far as the local culinary offerings go, there are two venues on-site as well. Montecito Restaurant brings West Coast specialities to France with its elevated, contemporary Californian fare: it’s there that you’ll find everything from roasted watermelon and ceviche to lobster rolls and a more grown-up take on mac and cheese. In the warmer months, Sequoia Rooftop Bar is a chic spot for superb cocktails and breathtaking, 360-degree views over Paris – Eiffel Tower included.
