A new addition to Seoul’s luxury hospitality scene, Josun Palace is quickly making a name for itself in the upscale Gangnam district. While this hotel just opened in 2021, the Josun Hotel and Resort brand has over a century of experience behind it: a tried-and-true legacy of excellence that merges with modern luxury to create the uniquely wonderful Josun Palace.

The hotel’s address places it in the heart of Gangnam's business district, which is as excellent for leisure as it is for commerce. Within the hotel, you'll find 254 rooms (including 44 suites), all of which embody a fresh take on classic Art Deco design. The spaces are set almost entirely in shades of white and their derivatives; that coupled with the enormous full-wall windows creates a pleasantly open, airy ambience. Style Moderne accents hearken back to the 1930s and take the form of unusual lighting fixtures, geometric statement chairs and half-moon headboards, while the crisp lines and lack of superfluous decor offer a heightened sense of contemporary luxury. Views vary from one accommodation to the next, but all rooms gaze out at the city – book a room on the highest floor you can to make the most of those vistas, and if you’re able to snag a corner room, you'll be in for quite a treat.

The hotel has a good bit of variety as far as drinking and dining are concerned, with five distinct options to choose from. For all meals of the day (and an abundant buffet breakfast) visit Constans, which focuses on flavours both local and international. For an authentic Cantonese fine-dining experience, pay a visit to The Great Hong Yuan or check out Eatanic Garden for New Korean Contemporary. 1914 Lounge & Bar is a timeless pub where you can enjoy an artisan cocktail alongside a plate of light bites, while Josun Deli the Boutique is a great option when you want something fabulous in a pinch.

The dazzling Josun Wellness Club is definitely a highlight of the hotel; even if you have no intention of working out, you'll want to pay a visit just for the views. An exquisite indoor pool features mesmerising high-rise vistas of the city and mountains beyond, and the pool itself is surrounded by decadent furniture that makes the space feel like a sophisticated lounge.
