Cooking and wine-tasting classes are available to help you fully appreciate the rich flavours of the region.
There’s a small spa located in a converted century-old boathouse and a fitness room as well – there you’ll find just the bare essentials in terms of fitness equipment, so a swim in the freshwater infinity pool (which plays underwater music), or a hike on one of the many nearby trails might be a more attractive option for exercise.
Take out one of the hotel’s all-wood Riva motor boats – you’ll be able to drive them yourself, no license necessary. The town of Como is five miles south and with it plenty of restaurants and boutiques in addition to the city’s gorgeous renaissance architecture and the Tempio Voltiano Museum. Don’t leave without taking a ride on the funicular which connects Como to Brunate, the mountain town which is considered to be the ‘Balcony of the Alps’.
