A Grade II-listed hotel set on the grounds of King Henry VIII’s Bridewell Palace, Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars is a historic getaway in a location that’s hard to beat. Set in the heart of the city on London’s Square Mile, the Hyatt Regency is within easy strolling distance of such beloved London landmarks as Tate Modern, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and St. Paul’s Cathedral.

Within, the property’s 205 accommodations come in a variety of rooms and suites. All are kitted out to maximise comfort, and mod cons like climate control, blackout curtains, accoutrements for tea and coffee and Hyatt Luxury Mattresses come standard in all. The rooms themselves are tasteful and understated, with a tranquil colour palette of organic shades that are livened here and there by jewel-toned accents. Upscale yet laid-back, this spot serves up vibrant takes on familiar favourites, with an emphasis on sustainably sourced ingredients. Natural and sustainable options also feature heavily on NYnLON’s enticing wine list. Classic Chinese cuisine is reimagined at Chinese Cricket Club, which has great vegetable-forward options and serves dim sum on the weekends. The Leaf and Cane is a South American-inspired bar that features live music and great cocktails in a snazzy setting. For a cup of coffee, a light bite or a glass of bubbly, City Lounge will be your go-to.

The hotel’s fitness centre remains open 24 hours a day and has a decent assortment of strength and cardio equipment, although for other wellness facilities and spa services, you’ll need to look elsewhere. Fortunately, all of London is on the hotel’s doorstep: take a breezy walk by the waterside to 180 The Strand, which is less than twenty minutes away, or mosey a little further to Canary Wharf.
