If you're dreaming of a weekend in the French countryside, look no further than Hyatt Regency Chantilly. From the outside, this lovely getaway conjures up visions of an 18th-century hamlet. Within, it is sophisticated and modern – yet totally approachable – with a wonderful assortment of amenities to boot.

This lush, nature-surrounded property may feel a world away from it all, but in reality it's set just 45 minutes outside of Paris. Charles de Gaulle International Airport is just 20 minutes away from the property, making this a perfect getaway for guests who want to be removed from the hubbub without being too far from the action.

Within, you'll find 211 brand-new guestrooms and suites housed in eight buildings around the property. The influence of nature (and all the beauty to be found there) is immediately apparent upon stepping foot inside. Natural materials like pale wood abound, and nature's influence can be spotted throughout in details like tasteful abstract art prints and fresh flowers. The spaces are set almost entirely in shades of wood and white, and the overall effect is both soothing and invigorating. Decor is kept to a minimum but falls short of feeling plain, and the addition of private terraces and small balconies are a definite perk. Suites up the elegance with their high ceilings, lofty layouts and prime locations.

The bounty of the surrounding region presents itself in the hotel's gastronomy scene, which consists of four distinct venues. The flavours of Northern France are showcased at Nord, which features an invitingly elegant dining room to go with its sublime menu. We recommend opting for the chef's tasting menu, which showcases modern interpretations of local specialties every Saturday evening. At Le Condé, you can enjoy an excellent cocktail around the fireplace or outdoors on the terrace, while quick, healthy bites – either to-go or to be enjoyed in the comfort of your own room – can be obtained from The Market. CRAFT Le Marché Gourmand is our personal favourite of the lot; this convivial gourmet market features supremely fresh seasonal creations and a splendid brunch on Sundays.

There are myriad ways to explore the surrounding land, whether on horseback, on foot or by renting a bicycle.
