Just steps away from some of the world's most iconic fashion streets, this contemporary lifestyle hotel is also just a ten-minute metro ride away from the historic heart of the city (and the famous cathedral to be found there). The hotel's skyscraper-surrounded address makes it a well-placed launching pad for adventures near and far: after you’ve explored the surrounding neighbourhood, a quick stroll to the nearby high-speed train station will make the rest of Milan your oyster.

Within, the hotel’s 141 guestrooms and suites are handsome and thoughtfully designed. These sophisticated spaces are done up in a contemporary style with clean lines, modern materials and a colour scheme set in dark shades of mocha and taupe that contrasts beautifully against the crisp white of the linens. Warm lighting and colourful flower arrangements add a bit of life to the spaces, and elevated accents like enormous ceiling-height tufted leather headboards add a touch of regal flair. The rooms begin at a generous size and only get larger; floor-to-ceiling windows further enhance that feeling of spaciousness, and the very best views can be found in the 12th-floor Skyline Suite. Our only gripe with the guestrooms is the unfortunate lack of accoutrements for coffee; thankfully, this is Italy, so you'll have no shortage of options from which to get your caffeine fix.

One such option for the day’s first cup of coffee is CuMi – aka Cucina Milanese. This upscale restaurant is dedicated to the fine dining world and boasts a simple yet sophisticated menu that celebrates regional cuisine.The restaurant’s atmosphere is refreshingly convivial, and the spacious outdoor seating area is particularly nice. Later in the day, pay a visit to Organics SkyGarden @Cielo, which is a rooftop urban jungle that treats guests to awe-inspiring views of the Milan skyline. Good food, intimate music and plentiful greenery make this a memorable spot; the brunch served on Sundays is also well worth a visit. For a latte in the morning or a cocktail later in the day, the 70s-inspired Intermezzo is a stylish meeting place with nostalgic furniture and a colourful, pop culture-inspired mural featuring the iconic supermodel Twiggy.
