Attractively located by the La Mer beaches of Jumeirah 1, Hyatt Centric Jumeirah Dubai is a pretty beachfront escape with superb amenities and spectacular views. While the hotel’s waterside location makes getting to downtown by metro a bit of a pain (skip public transportation, if you can, and opt for a cab), the Hyatt makes up for it in other ways, such as by being a fifteen-minute drive from Dubai International Airport and placing 2.5 kilometres of white sand beaches at guests’ fingertips.

The property’s 173 guest rooms are spacious and inviting and strike a tasteful balance between sleek design and vibrant flair. While not exactly overflowing with personality, the spaces are nevertheless attractive and well-appointed and are set predominantly in nautical blues and rich browns livened by abstract artwork on the walls and geometric rugs underfoot. Fabulous views steal the show, and large windows frame either the Arabian Gulf or the iconic Dubai skyline. Many rooms also feature private balconies from which to better soak in the views; these additions are well worth the upcharge, especially if your chosen accommodation overlooks the water. Suites are far more inspired in terms of interior design, and the Terrace Suite boasts an impressive 115 square metres of outdoor space.

Begin your day with breakfast at Eunoia, a French-Mediterranean restaurant that features an open kitchen and floor-to-ceiling windows. Eunoia is also open for both lunch and dinner; if the weather’s nice, dine out on the poolside terrace to enjoy fabulous views of the sea. Should you find yourself needing a caffeine fix, swing by the charming and colourful Lubov Lounge for a good cup of coffee and what the hotel claims to be the ‘best croissant in Dubai’. Head back outside later in the day for drinks and light bites at CBar, which is a particularly wonderful place to be at sunset.

In addition to the outdoor pool, Hyatt Centric also features a large, impressively equipped fitness centre that is flooded with natural light and open 24 hours a day. After your workout, head to the spa for a luxurious massage to rejuvenate tired muscles, or lounge seaside beneath an umbrella on the beautiful beach, which is literally just steps away.
