About the hotel
"The most contemporary of the three Costa Smeralda Luxury Collection hotels, Hotel Romazzino is beachy and cool with its fresh guestrooms, stylish bars and restaurants that highlight regional cuisine."

Opened in 1965, there’s history here. Some of the only sandy beaches in Italy are on this island – and they're beautiful. In the 1960s, the untouched locale inspired Prince Karim Aga Khan to assemble a team of noted architects to form the Architectural Committee of Costa Smeralda. Inspiration that resulted in everything that’s here today, including Porto Cervo where the jet-set dock their yachts each summer. High society gathers to party, yet it still feels wildly remote with a visually stunning rawness.
Hotel Romazzino with its 77 rooms and 17 suites (all with balconies or terraces) is the pick of the four hotels and the most popular, by far, with British visitors. Rooms are fresh and beachy with curved whitewashed walls, polished terracotta tiled floors, authentic Sardinian furniture, hand-crafted by local artisans and wicker chairs on the terraces. The two pools (dress to impress) – one seawater and one fresh – are popular throughout the day.
Ask for one of the recently renovated premium deluxe doubles overlooking the bay which have distressed pine furniture and sepia pictures of stone cottages. Bathrooms are bright and fun, with mosaic-effect, blue and yellow walls and Acqua Di Parma products to enjoy.
When it comes time to dine there are several options, both formal and relaxed by the beach. The exceptionally diverse cuisine of Sardinia — fresh coastal seafood sourced locally, hearty meats and homemade pastas — are sure to please all palates. Picture yourself at the Ristorante Barbeque on the beach, sandals in one hand and a local glass of rosé in the other, or savouring fresh Mediterranean fare at La Terrasse while taking in the astounding views. There are also two stylish bars, one in the hotel and one on the beach, so there’s no need to venture too far for evening entertainment.
For families with young children, there are many options including Junior Suites which can be fitted with a crib or an extra roll-away. Also good for youngsters is the large garden and ‘Toy Club’, deemed the best kids’ club on the island, which takes children up to 12 years old. Adults can work out in the outdoor fitness centre while admiring sweeping ocean views, take a class in the yoga room or unwind with treatments at Rosemary Wellness & Spa.
