Les 3 Vallées is the planet’s largest ski region and is – without question – one of its most spectacular. Within it, you’ll find such destinations as Val Thorens, Méribel and Courchevel and, within the last of those three, you’ll find Hotel Le K2 Palace. A paradisial escape facing the majesty of the Alps, this luxurious hotel and spa has it all: sophisticated guestrooms, top-tier amenities and a ski lift ready and waiting to whisk guests up to some of the best skiing in the world.

There are just 34 accommodations within the hotel: twenty-four of which are guestrooms, with the remaining eight being indulgent suites and suite-chalets. The hotel’s boutique size is an asset to the property and affords guests a welcome sense of discretion and exclusivity. The accommodations themselves are divine. Visually striking and supremely comfortable, these Himalayan-inspired spaces represent a glamorous modern reimagining of classic Alpine design. Monochromatic colour palettes lean heavily into pale neutrals – think shades of snow, charcoal and taupe – with impeccably coordinated elements of wood and stone. Accents of brilliant scarlet lend contrast to the rooms' otherwise subdued hues, while artwork and fresh floral arrangements add a welcome personal touch.

Boutique though the hotel may be, Le K2 Palace's dining scene is nothing to sneeze at. Chef Jean-Rémi Caillon helms the two-Michelin-starred Le Kintessence, which is an elegant exploration of contemporary French cuisine with a particular focus on umami flavours. Le Black Pyramid is open for all meals of the day and is an ode to the simple magnificence of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region's cuisine. For a libation or two, pay a visit to Le 8611 Bar, which is a cosy spot warmed by a crackling fireplace, or try Le Winston Klub, which will be especially beloved by cigar and spirit enthusiasts. Last, but most certainly not least, Le Sakara is a gourmet dessert restaurant that boasts two Michelin Stars that is nothing short of magical. Needless to say, this spot is an absolute must-visit for some of the most unique dishes imaginable: Asparagus and Cardamom Ice Cream, and White Artichoke Cream and Sorbet with Beer Foam, to name just two.

Skiing, naturally, is the undisputed highlight of a stay at Hotel Le K2 Palace, but the amenities found within the hotel are exceptional in their own right. Le Goji Spa spans four rooms over two floors and is a divine place to indulge in some post-slope pampering. Equally impressive is the state-of-the-art fitness centre, to speak nothing of the dazzling indoor pool.
