Of the resort’s 30 suites, thirteen are on the beach and seventeen are hillside. The Beachfront Suites land you right on the soft white sand, while the Hillside Pool Suites have private plunge pools and striking views to be enjoyed from enormous wraparound decks. The design scheme throughout the suites is simple and sophisticated, drawing on the natural beauty of wooden floors and furnishings, which contrasts with the creamy colours of the beds and walls. The all-inclusive dining menu changes frequently, offering an ever-fresh assortment of delicious options, many of which are inspired by the organic produce and herbs grown in the resort’s garden. In the evenings, the restaurant becomes a more formal dining room complete with romantic lighting and live mood music. Or you might opt for a meal on the patio (kept cool by the shade of almond trees), or snack on canapes poolside. Delicious cocktails can be found throughout, and sparkling wine flows freely – champagne in the winter months, prosecco in the summer.
Keeping in line with the resort’s mission of absolute serenity, yoga and meditation classes are held on the resort’s peaceful spa deck in the mornings. The spa offers a full menu of facials and massages in addition to their “Colour Rituals:” treatments coming in every colour of the rainbow, each one focused on a different chakra with the intention of transforming a unique part of the soul.
Despite its seclusion, there's still plenty to do at Hermitage Bay. Watersport options abound, and Jolly Harbour is ten minutes away if you fancy a few rounds of golf or a shopping spree. Should you wish to travel a bit farther, the capital, St. John’s is just thirty minutes away. Also worth noting is that kids under 14 are not permitted, and the resort’s vibe is definitely more suited towards adults – particularly for those seeking a getaway both romantic and relaxing.
