Four Seasons Hotel Prague
About the hotel
"Arguably the best-located hotel in the city, the Four Seasons hotel is stately and timeless with lovely rooms, fabulous Italian cuisine and an alluring spa with excellent Czech baths."
Within the stately hotel, rooms vary stylistically: some are studies in pale blue and ivory, while others are cast in pale rosy shades with delicate wallpaper. All are spacious and lovely, with glittering chandeliers hanging above dark wooden furnishings and tufted benches at the ends of sumptuous beds. Stylish patterned drapes open up to expose views that are spectacular throughout: from one side of the hotel you’re treated to Prague Castle vistas, from the other you’ll be able to see both the Old Town Square and Jewish Quarter. Be sure to book a room with a balcony, if you can.

The hotel’s CottoCrudo Restaurant offers some of the city’s finest Italian, and the wine menu at the CottoCrudo Bar is similarly excellent. The only trouble here is choosing between a glass of wine or a cocktail – historical mixology creations are the bar’s speciality (and their house limoncello is sublime). The Gallery is a warm and artsy spot for coffee and pastries surrounded by modern Czech artwork, and the rooftop MIRU pop-up restaurant offers Japanese-fusion cuisine with stunning city views – be sure to catch at least one sunset there.
The AVA spa is peaceful and lovely; notable among its extensive treatment list are its fabulous Czech baths. The space also has a small vitality pool, which – though certainly not big enough for laps – is a sleek spot for a quick dip.
Though the hotel’s lovely rooms tempt one to stay indoors, there’s much to explore nearby. The sights of Mala Strana are just a ten-minute walk away, and the Rudolfinum is even closer: walk a mere 100 metres to see the Czech Philharmonic perform there. Also within walking distance is the glamorous Parizska Street where you’ll find designer names like Jimmy Choo and Hermès. For the most romantic of evenings, book a boat tour and visit the Charles Bridge; illuminated in the evenings, the sight is all the more beautiful from the water.
