Named after the reigning king of England at the time when relations were at a high between the two countries, everything about the George V boasts French panache and elegance. The rooms and suites create an atmosphere of luxurious Parisian apartments, including stunning views from numerous terraces. All 244 were reworked in classic Louis XV style after the Four Seasons took over the hotel in 1999. Even entry-level deluxe rooms are huge by Parisian norms, but the extravagant Royal Suite is one to remember, stretching 235 square metres and featuring a private steam room and marble fireplace.
Marble bathrooms all have tubs and walk-in showers, a TV and Bulgari bath products. A Nespresso machine is standard, and the minibar includes a select collection of 'Made in France' goodies. Well behaved children are welcome here, and the staff (and waiters) will spoil them rotten with complimentary games, colouring books, hotel tours and child-friendly toiletries.
The French gastronomic cuisine at Le Cirque is renowned, having earned three Michelin stars while being accompanied by rare wines. The Michelin-starred Orangerie serves fresh fish and plant-based meals in a light, airy atrium-style dining room, while Le George (also a Michelin star recipient) offers up contemporary Mediterranean fare by the celebrated Chef Simone Zanoni. From an afternoon coffee to evening digestifs, Le Bar is the perfect place to share conversation over decadent tapas, and La Galerie offers all-day dining including a chic afternoon tea.
Book into the spa for a late afternoon Kobido facial, a natural Japanese facelift, or to escape the hustle and bustle by relaxing in the mosaic-tiled hammam. There’s also a fabulous fitness centre with a giant interactive digital wall to keep you super-charged, a supremely tempting lap pool, a hot tub and a whirlpool.
