Originally built in the 1950s as an eco-resort and nature sanctuary, Dorado Beach, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve, is undeniably one of the most popular destinations for a destination Puerto Rico luxury vacation. Set on 50 beachfront acres, the resort features two ocean-view swimming pools, lush tropical vegetation and renowned customer service that past guests rave about. Located poolside, Positivo Sand Bar offers fare including sushi, sashimi, sandwiches and freshly-made guacamole. Known for its farm-to-table fare, COA steakhouse boasts one of the largest wine cellars in the Caribbean with over 3200 bottles. Guests can take classes from professional chefs in the Culinary Center and pick up local products including handmade chocolates and Puerto Rican coffee at La Cocina Gourmet.

Take in the island’s natural beauty with a scenic walk along the eleven miles of nature trails that run through the tropical forests and along the beach, or explore the resort grounds at a leisurely pace by bicycle. Set in a former pineapple grove, Spa Botánico offers treatments inspired by traditional Puerto Rican healers featuring products custom-made in the on-site apothecary from local ingredients such as coconut, sea salt and sweet lime. Visit the fitness centre to work out on equipment by TechnoGym, or take a class in the outdoor yoga studio.
