All have private outdoor spaces as well, though those belonging to suites are exponentially larger than are found in standard rooms. If you can swing it, it’s well worth the upgrade (and the private pools don’t hurt, either). Rooms feel bright and refreshing, with natural shades punctuated by bright bursts of blue that reflect the water outside. The bathrooms could stand to be larger, but it’s a small price to pay for the legroom throughout the rest of the spaces.
Cuisine at the resort largely focuses on (no surprise here) Mediterranean flavours, all of which feels wonderfully authentic and impeccably fresh. Start your day in the food bazaar, Pangaea, and come back later for a succulent meat or seafood dish cooked over a wood fire. The sophisticated Ocean Restaurant is artsy and chic – so much so that you won’t even mind dining inside, though there’s an outdoor terrace if you can’t bear to forgo an al fresco meal (and who could blame you?). You’ll have a smattering of other options for food and drink; for the latter, Crystal Box has an oh-so-cool lounge vibe, snazzy cocktails and unforgettable panorama views.
A well-appointed spa feels appropriately indulgent; it’s pretty as can be and utterly tranquil. If you’d prefer to raise your heart rate rather than lower it, the nearby Fitness & Movement Centre offers a range of fitness classes – the ambitious (and coordinated) should opt for one of the Aqua Reax classes; these take place on floating boards on top of the water (for those who can keep their balance, that is).
