A wonderfully intimate escape set on a majestic 37-acre estate, COMO Uma Paro is one of the most coveted getaways in the nation of Bhutan. This exclusive resort is the brand's first location in Bhutan, and it is a superb debut: beautiful design, top-notch amenities, once-in-a-lifetime experiences and an absolutely stunning location make it a fantastic launching pad from which to explore the majesty of the Himalayas and of Bhutan at large.

Twenty of the property’s accommodations are rooms and suites, with the remaining nine being divine private villas. The spaces are thoughtfully designed and peaceful as can be: exactly what you want to return to after a day of adventures. The calm interior design is a picture-perfect blend of white walls and abundant natural wood with delightful bursts of colour in the rugs and carefully chosen accents. Bathrooms are large and spa-like; in the villas, these come with claw foot tubs alongside other perks like wood-burning stoves and private rooms for spa treatments. Rooms have views of either the surrounding pine forests or Paro Valley itself; we’re partial to the valley vistas, but you really can’t go wrong either way.

The resort's own gardens are to thank for many of the organic ingredients used in its vibrant culinary scene. Further collaborations with local farmers ensure that seasonally inspired dishes are sustainably created and fresh as can be. The award-winning restaurant Bukhari is the resort's signature eatery: breakfasts and lunches here highlight comfort food from around the world, while dinner is a magnificent fine dining affair. So special are the concoctions of Bukhari (which, by the way, is named after a traditional Bhutanese fireplace) that it is a regular dining spot of Bhutan‘s royal family.
