125 guestrooms and 48 executive residences and suites make up the hotel which is equally popular with both a corporate crowd and well-heeled leisure travellers. Accommodations are spread over the hotel’s two towers, with the rooms found in the newer tower being a touch larger and just a bit more modern. Nevertheless, all are gorgeous: decorated with a simple sophistication that pays a subtle homage to the country's heritage. The elegant colour palette is set in shades of ivory, taupe and beige, with the only true colour coming from strategically placed fresh flowers and the views beyond floor-to-ceiling windows.

Restaurant Salsipuedes is a vibrant celebration of Panamanian culture and cuisine, a must-visit at least once during your stay. Set in a pretty dining room on the hotel's fifth floor, the restaurant is open for all meals of the day and serves impressive dishes with exquisite attention to detail. 8°58’ Lounge is an attractive, art-adorned space decorated with the works of celebrated local and Latin American artists. Come for tapas and a drink or two – the selection of rum is particularly good and live music hosted in the lounge creates a memorable atmosphere.

The hotel has a rooftop pool, though it is somewhat small and rather awkwardly placed between two buildings – this is not a place for laps with a view. While the pool is slightly disappointing, the hotel redeems itself with its magnificent spa which is also found on the top floor and actually does boast splendid views. The spa is divided into separate areas for men and women, with each area featuring a lounge with enormous windows framing panoramic views of the city. There’s also a salon and barbershop for guests looking to freshen up before a night out on the town, as well as a well-equipped fitness centre with cardio machines and free weights.
