Majorda is about a ten-minute drive from Goa’s Dabolim airport and about half an hour from Goa’s capital, Panjim. Breakfast is served at Vivo in the morning, an elaborate affair of fresh everything and Indian and continental choices for something more substantial. The restaurant stays open for all meals and offers kids choices as well. Spice Studio serves up divine Indian food with a Goan twist; the Goan fish curry is especially memorable, and the kulfi ice cream for dessert is devilishly moreish.
The hotel’s enormous infinity pool is the stuff of dreams (often rated as one of the top pools in India) with a bar by its side, and there’s also a kid’s pool with kiddy-sized sunbeds. The spa is a big draw, of course, and there’s a gym, a cricket pitch, a movie theatre (and one for kids) and a beauty salon. The Alila Living Boutique has a selection of swimwear and casual togs for sale if you need to upgrade your look while you’re here.
