Autumn’s Must-See Art Shows around the World

ASMALLWORLD

This autumn, our editors invite you to enjoy the world’s most exciting art and design shows. As an ASMALLWORLD Member, you will have the opportunity to pair your trip with a luxurious stay at some of the finest hotels across the globe.

Frieze London, London, UK

Kick off the month with a trip to Frieze London, one of the leading contemporary art fairs in the world. Held in Regent’s Park from 9-13 October, this year’s show will exhibit a vast array of stands with artworks from more than 160 of the most prominent galleries worldwide. After a day of walking round the big tents, head back to The Langham – just a short stroll from the park – for a cocktail in the hotel’s renowned Artesian bar, which has been voted The World’s Best Bar for four consecutive years.

Salon Art + Design, New York, USA

Follow the Frieze London crowd across the pond to New York, where Salon Art + Design is taking place between 7-11 November. This fair showcases the very best of modern and contemporary art with design pieces from across the globe. Expect to see everything from 20th-century French furniture to contemporary Scandinavian ceramics and American artworks.

To make the most of your NYC experience, stay at the Park Hyatt New York near Central Park. With its spacious rooms and easy access to the city’s cultural hotspots – not to mention its renowned spa – this hotel is the perfect base in the heart of Manhattan.

Artissima, Turin, Italy

For a touch of Italian flair, head over to Turin for Artissima, which takes place between 1-3 November. This contemporary art fair – one of Italy’s most prestigious arts events – is known for its creative curation of established and emerging artists. This year you can expect to see the crème de la crème of emerging talent at the ‘Present Future’ section, while ‘Back to the Future’ celebrates established artists and pioneers from the 1960s to 1990s.

We recommend staying in The Mandarin Oriental, Milan, to combine cosmopolitan charm with the artistic flair of Artissima. Just an hour’s train ride away, Turin makes for a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Italy’s capital city.
