ASMALLWORLD invites members and guests to join Ambassador Claudia Pellicano for an exclusive visit to Passeggiate Romane, the latest distinctive exhibition at MAXXI.

Join us for a one-of-a-kind journey through the city’s history where we’ll see a selection of works and artefacts, rarely accessible to the public⎯the archives of three of Rome's most important museums: the Borghese Gallery, the National Gallery, and the Capitoline Museums.

With this exhibition, the MAXXI showcases a significant collection of ancient and modern art for the first time within its spaces, presenting them in an immersive, scenographic installation designed specifically for the occasion by multi-Oscar-winning designer Dante Ferretti. This unique set design allows the city and street to expand, spilling into the enclosed gallery space and challenging the usual relationship between interior and exterior.

Through a play of perspectives and reflections, the works enter a close dialogue with the present-day museum, reinterpreted through the contemporary sensibility of the venue, offering an updated view of today’s world.

It is recommended to pre-purchase your tickets.

MAXXI is Italy's first national museum dedicated to contemporary creativity. Conceived as a large cultural campus, it was designed by Zaha Hadid, the winner of an international competition, and stands as a striking architectural masterpiece with innovative and spectacular forms. The museum produces and hosts exhibitions in art, architecture, design, and photography, along with projects in fashion, film, music, theatre, and dance performances, as well as lectures and meetings with artists, architects, and key figures of our time.

The collection is displayed with free admission from Tuesday to Thursday, showcasing works in rotation. More than a museum, MAXXI is an open platform for all forms of creativity, a space for encounters, exchanges, and collaborations for everyone, fostering ideas and visions for the future.

MAXXI is managed by a Foundation established in July 2009 by the then Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities.
The programming—exhibitions, workshops, conferences, laboratories, performances, screenings, and educational projects—reflects MAXXI's mission not only to preserve and showcase heritage but also, and above all, to act as a cultural laboratory for experimentation and innovation, studying, researching, and producing aesthetic content relevant to our time.
