Design Miami, Miami

Miami transforms into an art and culture nexus for its annual Miami Art Week, held this December. Running from 3-8 December, Design Miami is a premium fair for collectible design that attracts top galleries and designers from around the world. This year’s fair will feature innovative furniture pieces, bespoke installations and limited-edition works. Notable exhibitors include Mathieu Lehanneur and Friedman Benda, presenting pieces that reflect current trends in sustainable design and craftsmanship. Art Basel Miami, Miami

Between 6-9 December, Art Basel Miami showcases galleries from five continents, against the vibrant backdrop of Miami Beach. The event features works by masters of modern and contemporary art, in addition to highlighting a new generation of emerging talent. Colorful Korea: The Lea R. Sneider Collection, New York

Opening on the 2nd December at The Met in New York, Colorful Korea exhibits Korean art that challenged established norms, collected over the course of 40 years by Lea R. Sneider. Including paintings, ceramics, furniture and textiles, the exhibition is a vibrant celebration of Korean culture and “unpretentious dynamism”.

THE MET IN NEW YORK

Taiwan Design Week, Taipei

From 7-15 December, Taiwan Design Week presents "The Gateway," an exhibition exploring themes of artificial intelligence and sustainable design. This event features exhibitions, workshops and talks that highlight the creative potential of Taiwanese designers while addressing global challenges through innovative solutions. Expect interactive installations that invite participation and reflection on how technology can enhance sustainability in design practices.

Yayoi Kusama at the National Gallery of Victoria, Australia

Curated by The National Gallery of Victoria and opening on 15 December, this Yayoi Kusama exhibition consists of nearly 200 works by the famed 95 year old creator. Exhibiting painting, sculpture, collage, fashion, video and installation, the show underscores Kusama’s multidisciplinary practice across her 8 decade career and is one of the largest exhibits of this iconic and truly unique artist's work. Alongside the better-known works, don’t miss the never-before-seen kaleidoscopic infinity mirror room, which will make its global premiere at the exhibition.
