Travel to Vancouver for Invictus Games 2025

Travel to Vancouver for Invictus Games 2025

This February, Vancouver will host the seventh Invictus Games, a global multi-sport event founded in 2014 by Prince Harry. The games are a celebration of the perseverance of injured and sick serving servicemen and women and veterans. Up to 550 competitors from 25 nations across the world will gather to showcase their athleticism and share their journeys of physical and mental rehabilitation.

The Invictus Games

The games will unfold across several iconic Vancouver venues, beginning with an exciting Opening Ceremony at BC Place on February 8th with performances from Katy Perry and Nelly Furtado setting the stage for a week of thrilling competition. Wheelchair basketball kicks off the programme, and other highlights include sitting volleyball, wheelchair rugby and the much-anticipated indoor rowing finals, which will close the games at Rogers Arena on February 16, 2025. This year the Invictus Games will introduce winter sports such as Alpine Skiing, Snowboarding, and Nordic Skiing. These events will take place on the stunning alpine Whistler Mountain, an hour and a half drive outside of the city centre.

Explore Vancouver

Beyond the arenas, Vancouver’s vibrant culture and natural beauty make the city an irresistible destination to visit. From its picturesque waterfront to its historic neighbourhoods, the city offers plenty for visitors to explore between matches.

Stanley Park, a sprawling 1,000-acres, features scenic beaches, lush botanical gardens and iconic totem poles that celebrate the region’s Indigenous heritage as well as many other attractions. Stroll along the famous Seawall and look out across the powerful ocean where walkers often spot seals, otters and even whales.

Vancouver has plenty to offer for culture-lovers as well. Gastown, Vancouver’s original downtown, is a cobblestone neighbourhood featuring Victorian-era architecture. As the home of Vancouver’s first tavern, the area bustles with plentiful restaurants and bars, and explore eclectic boutiques and art galleries.
