For over thirty years, the Sibuet family has run the world’s most perfect Alpine escape, Les Fermes de Marie. Les Fermes de Marie has subsequently become the flagship of the Maison et Hotel boutique hotel group, a Sibuet family dynasty. This small and exclusive hamlet of Alpine cottages is the very definition of peace and joy. The magnificent hotel is more than just a place to rest your head, it is a destination in and of itself. Premium french cuisine, delightful Alpine spa treatments, and, of course, the beautiful surroundings are just a few of the things that makes Les Fermes de Marie so special. Explore the small Alpine villages surrounding Megevé or even take a gondola ride to Chamonix. The opportunities for fun and relaxation are endless.

Explore the Alps

Les Fermes de Marie is nestled at the foot of the French Alps, giving one an unparalleled opportunity to marvel at the wonder of these ancient mountains. This is the perfect destination for those who crave the feeling of the wind against their faces and the adrenaline of speeding into the unknown. The skiing slopes here are certainly some of the best in the world. There are over 300km of majestic slopes with over 80 ski lifts. Les Fermes de Marie has a skiman who is dedicated to you personally, to advise you on different aspects of this incredible sport.

Discover the pristine city Megevé

The Alps are not the only natural beauty to marvel at in Megevé. Lac de Javen, a crystal-clear lake, runs through the town. The lakeside offers the perfect location for picnics, hiking, or just going for a swim. Additionally, there are plenty of restaurants along the lakeside which may peak your culinary interests. Les Palais, another treasure to be found in Megevé, is the largest sports and leisure centre in the Alps. Their facilities include an aquatic centre, an ice-rink, and a spa and wellness centre. Megevé has a rich culture and many historic sites to visit. Several beautiful chapels are littered around this idyllic little mountain town, including the famous Chapelle Sainte Anne and Eglise Saint-Jean Baptiste. The Haut Val d’Arly Museum is another must for any history buff.

Allow the spa treatments to take you on a trip to Valhalla

The award-winning Pure Altitude Spa and Wellness Centre at Les Fermes de Marie is sure to help you transcend to your higher self. There is no wonder why this particular Pure Altitude Spa is hailed as their flagship. Step into a new dimension where your wellbeing is the prime directive. The Pure Altitude Group aims to bring together the five natural elements to give you the ultimate beauty and relaxation experience. Their goal is to remind you that you deserve only the best this world has to offer. The Pure Altitude products are manufactured with plants sourced from the alpine slopes. The spa offers a hairstyling studio, ofuro bath, and indoor jacuzzi. Or perhaps you would like to warm up after skiing in one of their saunas. Alternatively, if you want to take a more active role in your wellness, try the indoor lap pool or fitness centre.

French dining at its finest

Les Fermes de Marie is an operational farm. This means that close to all of the ingredients for their fare are sourced on-site. There are three outstanding restaurants at Les Fermes de Marie. Le Restaurant Traditionnel focuses, as the name suggests, on traditional french cuisine. If you want to experience French food as the locals eat it, but brought up to five-star standards, this is for you. Le restaurant Alpin is the cheese lover’s paradise. The in-house fromagerie serves fondues that have been designed by Frédéric Royer, master cheesemonger of Fromagerie Boujon. La Salle à Manger is the crème de la crème of French Dining. The menu, designed by head chef Nicolas Sintes, aims to evoke the emotional experiences of the Sibuet family’s journey in running Les Fermes De Marie. The Sibuet family has their award-winning wine label Domaine de Marie, which is produced locally in Ménerbes and is available at all three restaurants.

Find yourself at the most relaxing yoga retreat

Les Fermes De Marie consistently hosts world-class events and seminars. In 2020, world-renowned Yogi, Elodie Garamond, the founder of the Tigre Yoga Clubs, will be hosting a four-day retreat to help passionate Yogi’s reconnect to themselves and nature. The retreat aptly dubbed, ‘Back to Nature’ will focus on Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. She will focus on improving participants’ base techniques and exploring the benefits of practice during this incredible getaway.
