London’s Top Festive Shopping Locations

London’s Top Festive Shopping Locations

London is filled with Christmas shopping spots, but finding the right ones that cater to your needs can be trying. Discover our selection of some of the top festive shopping locations across the city.

The King’s Road, Chelsea

Once a hotbed of 1960s style and renowned designers such as Mary Quant and Vivienne Westwood, this iconic street runs through the prestigious borough of Chelsea, where today you’ll find some of the most beautiful houses in London. The road stretches west from Sloane Square tube station towards Fulham Broadway, offering a mixture of popular chains such as Zara and Free People as well as some smaller boutique stores along the way.

Around Christmas time, there’s usually a display of illuminated Christmas balls in the trees around Sloane Square and a huge Christmas tree beside the Saatchi Gallery. On Saturdays, there’s a regular market held on Duke of York Square – perfect for picking up a festive snack along the way.

Angel, Islington

This vibrant area of north London offers a unique blend of shops, stalls, cafés, theatres, pubs and restaurants. From Angel station, you can walk down Upper Street to explore the combination of retail stores and eateries in the shopping centre. There’s also Camden Passage: old cobblestone streets lined with vintage stores and independent businesses. Whatever you’re looking for, there's an array of gift options in this lively area of the city.

Covent Garden

Covent Garden, located in London’s West End, was designed by Inigo Jones in the 17th century as a shopping and entertainment centre, inspired by Italian piazzas. These days, once you’ve explored the boutiques in the central site, enjoy a stroll around the surrounding streets, which are lined with plenty of other shops and eateries. Neal’s Yard is a lovely place to stop for a coffee and St Martin’s Courtyard offers some of the more renowned clothing shops. Walk further into the West End of central London and you’ll reach Carnaby Street – also a great shopping area with themed Christmas displays that change each year.
